The Portland Vase - An Enigma in Glass

Narrated by GF on behalf of History West Midlands (see Links) this is the tale of arguably the most iconic piece of Roman cameo glass ever made and of its more recent recreation by Stourbridge glassmaking artisans.

Time for another cat-break ...

... well,  Maisie and this critter are going to be fighting over the Aga. Another lazy varmint. This one is our latest rescue, he's got lovely whiskers so is known as The Colonel (his real name is actually Mackenzie, or Kenzie for short).  He loves me, actually.  Something to do with my beard; I dunno, apparently 8 out of 10 cats prefer whiskers. We'll keep you posted how this scrawny little whipper-snapper settles in.
